How to map a plot
- Find the land. Search for a village or town, paste coordinates, or tap the ◎ button to go to your location. Zoom in until you can see the field edges.
- Draw the boundary. Press Draw boundary and click each corner of the plot. Click the first corner again, or press Finish, to close the shape.
- Adjust and name it. Drag corners to follow the field edge. Add the plot name, the producer and the country.
- Download. Open the Export tab and choose EUDR GeoJSON, standard GeoJSON, KML for Google Earth, or CSV.

Who uses plot boundary maps
A boundary drawn on a satellite image is now needed for many everyday jobs, not only by surveyors:
- Exporters and cooperatives preparing geolocation data for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) for coffee, cocoa, rubber, soy, palm oil, wood and cattle.
- Certification schemes such as organic, Rainforest Alliance and Fairtrade audits, which increasingly ask for farm polygons.
- Farmers and landowners who want to know the size of a field, plan fencing, or estimate seed, fertiliser and planting density.
- Buyers and sellers of land who need a clear map of a parcel to share with others.
- Carbon and agroforestry projects that must register the area of each participating plot.
How accurate is it?
Area is calculated on the curved surface of the Earth, so results are reliable for plots of any size. The real limit is how precisely the corners are placed. On a clear satellite image at high zoom, corners can usually be placed within 1–3 metres. A phone GPS is typically accurate to 3–10 metres in open fields and worse under trees.
For legal boundaries, land titles or disputes, use an official cadastral survey. DrawMyPlot is a mapping tool, not a land survey.
Your data stays on your device
Plots you draw or import are saved in your own browser and are not uploaded to our server. Export your plots regularly, and before clearing your browser data, so you always have a copy.
