EUDR GeoJSON validator: check and fix your file

Paste a GeoJSON file or choose it from your computer. The checker lists every problem the EU Information System is likely to reject, fixes the safe ones automatically, and shows your plots on the satellite map.

What the validator checks

CheckFixed automatically?
Valid JSON and a FeatureCollectionWraps single features and bare geometries
Coordinates in WGS84 latitude/longitudeNo: re-export from your GIS in EPSG:4326
Six decimal placesYes, rounded
Polygon rings closedYes
Duplicate points after roundingYes, removed
Self-intersecting polygonsNo: redraw on the map
Holes inside polygonsYes, removed (not supported by the EU system)
LineString instead of PolygonYes, closed into a polygon
Point written as [[x, y]]Yes
Altitude (third coordinate)Yes, removed
Property names (ProducerName, ProducerCountry, ProductionPlace, Area)Yes, case corrected
Area as a number of hectaresYes, when the text is a number
ProducerCountry as an ISO two-letter codeUpper case fixed; invalid codes reported
Points over 4 haNo: draw a polygon

How to use it

  1. Paste the GeoJSON text into the box, or press Choose file.
  2. Press Check file and read the list. Red items need your attention; green ticks were fixed automatically.
  3. Press Download fixed file to save the corrected version.
  4. For crossing lines or wrong shapes, press Show on map, open the Plots tab, drag the corners, and export again.

If your coordinates are in UTM or another projection

Numbers like [512345.6, 9876543.2] are metres, not degrees. Open the file in QGIS and use Export → Save Features As, choose GeoJSON and set the CRS to EPSG:4326 – WGS 84. Or zip the Shapefile with its .prj file and use the converter, which reprojects it for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is the file uploaded to your server?
No. The check runs entirely in your browser.
Does a clean result guarantee the EU system will accept my file?
No tool can guarantee that, because the official system may add or change rules. The validator follows the EU GeoJSON File Description and catches the most common causes of rejection.
What does 'self-intersection' mean?
The boundary line crosses itself, like a figure eight. This usually happens when corners were clicked in the wrong order. Move the corners on the map so no lines cross.
Why were holes removed?
The EU system only reads the outer boundary of a polygon. If part of a plot must be excluded, draw the remaining land as separate plots.
