KML to GeoJSON converter (also KMZ, GPX, Shapefile and CSV)

Drop a file from Google Earth, a GPS app or a GIS program. Check the shapes on the satellite map, edit them if needed, then download GeoJSON, EUDR GeoJSON, KML or CSV.

Supported files

ImportNotes
KML, KMZFrom Google Earth, Google My Maps and many field apps. Polygons, paths and placemarks.
GPXTracks and waypoints from GPS devices and apps. A track around a field becomes a polygon.
Shapefile (.zip)Zip the .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj files together. Projected coordinates are converted to latitude/longitude.
CSVColumns latitude and longitude, optionally plot_id to group corners into plots, or a wkt column.
GeoJSONAny FeatureCollection, Feature or geometry.

Export to EUDR GeoJSON, standard GeoJSON, KML or CSV.

How to convert

  1. Open the Import tab and choose or drop your file.
  2. Check the shapes on the satellite map. Click a plot to edit its corners or details.
  3. Open the Export tab, choose the output format and press Download.

Exporting from Google Earth

In Google Earth Pro, right-click a polygon or folder in the Places panel and choose Save Place As…, then pick KML or KMZ. In Google Earth on the web, open the project, choose Export as KML file, and import that file here.

Frequently asked questions

Is the conversion done online or on my computer?
On your computer, in the browser. Files are not uploaded.
Why did my lines become polygons?
Plot boundaries must be closed areas. When a path or GPS track is imported, DrawMyPlot closes it into a polygon so that area can be measured. Check the shape before exporting.
My Shapefile appears in the wrong place.
Include the .prj file in the zip so the coordinate system can be read. Without it, coordinates are assumed to already be latitude/longitude.
